"The pandemic taught us a key lesson: research saves lives. In this context, Cantabria Cohort was born, a population study that brings together scientists and citizens to better understand how our health works. From IDIVAL and Valdecilla Hospital, we are creating a large database and sample collection to help develop Personalized Medicine—medicine that adapts to each individual. But we can't do this alone. We need people like you to make it work! Can we count on you?"
This is how we presented the project on Monday, May 19, at Bar Rvbicón, under the title 'How to Conduct Research with 50,000 People in Cantabria.' The project coordinators, Dr. Marta Díaz and Dr. Ana Peleteiro, recreated a recruitment call from our Call Center, showcasing the day-to-day workings of the project while taking the opportunity to answer the most frequently asked questions.
The Pint of Science Festival is an international event that invites leading researchers to share their knowledge in a relaxed and informal setting. Over the course of three days, the organizers and participants aim to create a format that is accessible to all audiences. The chosen stage for this event? BARS ALL AROUND THE WORLD! This way, the festival offers a platform that allows people to learn about and discuss research directly with the scientists behind it.
