Use of surplus tissues
Close to 50 surplus tissue samples donated by participants from the Cantabria Cohort are being utilized to investigate the relationship of certain diseases with lifestyle, the development of new diagnostic and prognostic methods, and the identification of biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Currently, studies are focusing on the following pathologies:
– Colorectal, lung, and breast cancer
– Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
– Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma
– Hepatic cirrhosis
